SCG is the first Thai company in the country to announce a policy on Green Procurement and put the policy into action by establishing the Guidelines for Green Procurement since 2004. SCG does not only show a strong intention to purchase products and services with less environmental impacts, but also urge the manufacturers to improve the development of more environmental friendly products and services.
At present, SCG has established Green Procurement List of Environmental Products and Services comprises of 108 lists from 32 brands, with the total purchase of 22 million Baht in 2006
Having recognized the significance of environmental management throughout the supply Chain, in 2007, SCG Sustainable Development Committee agrees to merge Greening the Supply Chain Project into the SCG Green Procurement by supporting suppliers who failed to meet the criteria for SCG Green Procurement in making improvement and correction and continuously enhance environmental conditions.

Now that is one thing that a lot of other companies should be doing. Well, there are a lot of them taking up environmental management training nowadays actually and are practicing green activities like this.
