Banpu is especially mindful of its responsibility to society and the environment, and has long made it a priority in every aspect of its business. Banpu implements a program of strict environment impact assessment, choosing the appropriate technology and setting out a comprehensive master-plan and implementation of an Environmental Management System to ensure the preservation and rehabilitation of the environment while pursuing its business objectives. Banpu also takes pride in many community development projects it initiates in the area in which it operates. These projects are designed specially to preserve the existing environment and improve the quality of life of local communities.
Mine rehabilitation is planned before mining commences and environmental controls are strictly observed during mining operation. A reserve fund from every mined-out tonnage is set aside for mine rehabilitation and land use during and after mine depletion.
All power projects are put under strict emissions and environmental control to assure the long-term balance between generation of energy for economic development and environmental conservation.


Personal Response
I think that the sustainable policy of development of Bnanpu Co., Ltd. (Public) is a good one, because it helps to preserve the environment and to promote to use the resources with the most efficiency. I think that except Banpu to be praised from the customers and outsiders, the employees in the organization shall take part of such environment preservation. These are good results to the company for the long term.
